Ben Parker picks out 'excellent' Reading duo as players to watch for Leeds in upcoming clash

LUTV pundit Ben Parker has picked out Reading duo Ovie Ejaria and John Swift as two players to watch for Leeds United on Saturday.

The former Whites defender was impressed with Ejaria in particular in the reverse fixture, where the winger was a shining light for the home side in the 1-0 victory at the Madejski Stadium.

Jack Harrison got a late winner in that one, but the Royals gave Leeds a good run for their money on the counter-attack that evening.

Parker was asked to pick his players to watch for Leeds and immediately went to Swift – the former Chelsea man catching the eye under Mark Bowen.

“Swift, he’s been an excellent player for them so far this season,” he said on LUTV’s Scouting Report.

“Ejaria, as well, he’s been at Liverpool for part of his career. I thought he was really good actually down at the Madejski, but he’s played out wide on the left last game out.

“He might drift infield, as a big, tall kind of guy, but can cover the ground quite well.”

Swift has been superb in the middle of the park for the Royals this season. The 24-year-old has scored five goals and assisted a further nine, but he has also completed 2.6 key passes per game according to WhoScored – the most in the entire squad as he is their clear creative spark.

Ejaria also has the ability to cause anyone problems, as Kalvin Phillips found out the hard way in the last meeting between the two. His dribbling is his main asset, completing 3.3 per game – All Stats Aren’t We recently pointed out that can be the Whites’ kryptonite at times.
