Jorgen Strand Larsen talks advance as Leeds United learn of improved offer
Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future could become a lot clearer by the end of Thursday.
Leeds United are eager to sign Strand Larsen from Wolves in what would be a club-record deal for the Whites.
After having an initial £39m offer turned down, Leeds are expected to return with a new bid for Strand Larsen.
However, a fresh twist to the Strand Larsen transfer tale emerged on Thursday involving fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace ramp up Jorgen Strand Larsen pursuit
Leeds are not alone in showing an interest in Strand Larsen, with Palace also keen to sign the in-demand forward.
While it may come as a surprise Leeds value Strand Larsen so highly, he is clearly doing something right as a bidding war now looks likely to play out.
That is because, according to Fabrizio Romano via X, Crystal Palace have improved their proposal to sign Strand Larsen.
It is added that talks are underway with the Norway international’s camp to seal a deal ahead of Leeds.
At this stage, assuming no improved bid has yet been lodged by Leeds, all the Whites can do is sit and wait to see how Wolves respond to Palace’s proposal.

The Eagles are expected to have funds to spend as Jean-Philippe Mateta continues to be linked with a Selhurst Park exit.
Who can Leeds sell to fund Strand Larsen transfer?
Leeds do not have much room to play with in terms of PSR – certainly not enough to be spending a club-record sum this month – so sales will surely be required.
Joe Gelhardt is wanted permanently by Hull City after starring on loan for the Tigers this season, with that a deal that likely makes a lot of sense.
Players Leeds could offload permanently to raise funds:
- Joe Gelhardt
- Joel Piroe
- Jack Harrison
- Mateo Joseph
- Largie Ramazani
- Isaac Schmidt
Selling Gelhardt alone won’t be enough, though, so offloading Jack Harrison and Mateo Joseph, who are also both out on loan, could be required.
Then there is Joel Piroe, who is someone Leeds could do with in the squad but also someone who could land a fairly hefty sum if sold.
The truth is, Leeds cannot have their cake and eat it too. And so if Strand Larsen really is that badly wanted, selling Piroe – even before the end of Monday – might be a deal that makes most sense.
