'Very impressive' - O'Shea predicts a tough test for Arsenal against 'Scary' Leeds

The physical transformation at Leeds United has most likely been the most impressive change under Marcelo Bielsa.

A team has been put together by the South American that is capable of winning games no matter what situation they are in – something we have seen numerous times already this season.

Next up is Arsenal and the first big FA Cup challenge that the Whites will face during the reign of Bielsa and an opportunity to prove their Premier League credentials.

Former Sunderland and Manchester United defender John O’Shea has admitted that the Premier League side could struggle to keep up with Marcelo Bielsa’s men at the Emirates Stadium.

“They’ll be tested physically Arsenal,” O’Shea told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“The amount of running that Leeds do, it’s very impressive and I believe chatting to a couple of their coaches after the game, it was all about the intensity they have in training.

“It’s scary some of the numbers.”

O’Shea has come up against both sides, and for him to come out and admit that Leeds are one of the fittest teams he’s faced could show that Premier League teams aren’t used to that sort of pressure in the FA Cup.

The success of Leeds has mainly been down to the fact that they are physically superior to many sides they come up against. Many times this season, the Whites have won games in the final five minutes.

In games like Reading and Luton, the games were tight until the final third and then Bielsa’s men found an extra yard and managed to score on the counter-attack.

Arsenal will need to be careful not to tire themselves out in North London, or it is something that Leeds could definitely take advantage of.
