‘Wow really?’, ‘The day you lost the fans’ – Many Leeds fans react to Radrizzani Twitter message

Social media can be a cesspit.

Patrick Bamford has taken a load of abuse from fans after Leeds lost 1-0 to Wigan on Saturday and questions have even been asked about Marcelo Bielsa.

We’re all for fans expressing their opinions but if people think that Bielsa is the problem at Leeds, things are obviously getting out of hand.

Former Leeds player Tony Dorigo tried to stem the tide of abuse on Twitter over the weekend and suggested the fans should put their dummies back in their mouths and get behind the side on Saturday against Nottingham Forest.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani replied to the tweet with a meme of people celebrating and that’s rubbed some Leeds fans up even more.

Our take? We’d much prefer to have an owner who communicates with fans on social media.

Radrizzani doesn’t tweet often but when he does it’s usually positive. Fans were loving it when he questioned the officials at half-time in the Millwall game.

As for his latest tweet, he’s obviously talking about getting behind the team on Saturday, not clapping Dorigo for taking the fans in hand.

However, it’s fair to say that things are getting a bit toxic at the moment and it’s not good for anyone – fans, club or players.

Leeds have the perfect chance to put things right on Saturday against Nottingham Forest and we’re sure the fans will get behind the team at the City Ground.

Three points will see the toxic tweets stop but in the meantime, it was Radrizzani who is the latest Leeds United figure to come in for pelters…

Not everyone felt so angry about what we thought was a fairly innocuous tweet.

One fan echoed our thoughts saying, “What I see is a GIF agreeing with Tony’s call to keep cheering the team… At present we’re not quite MOT.”

Well said that man.
