‘Wow’, ‘Is this for real?’, ‘Pathetic’ – Many Leeds fans react as plans of PL rivals reported

Chelsea have applied for “planning permission to install seven pole-mounted CCTV cameras at their Cobham training base”, according to the Daily Mail – and Leeds United fans have reacted with bewilderment and hilarity on Twitter.

The Daily Mail report says that memories of Spygate must still be on Frank Lampard’s mind and that the new security system would protect their training ground at Cobham from “identified risks or security breaches”.

Marcelo Bielsa caused ructions in the game when he sent staff to watch Derby train when Lampard was manager.

Despite no actual rule being broken, Leeds were fined £200,000 and Derby refused to let it go, celebrating with ‘bincoulars’ when they beat Leeds in the play-off final in the 18/19 season.

Lampard moved to Chelsea at the end of that season with Bielsa guiding Leeds back to the top-flight after winning the 19/20 Championship.

Bielsa and Lampard are set to clash again when Leeds travel to Stamford Bridge on December 5 and plenty of Whites fans can’t believe that Lampard and Chelsea are taking this security step.

One said, “Is this for real?” while another said that no one needed to spy on Chelsea at the moment as Lampard was simply devoid of tactics.
