‘We are going up’, ‘It’s time’ – Some Leeds fans thrilled by latest EFL statement

Leeds United fans are thrilled to see that if the Championship season is curtailed, points-per-game will be used to decide final positions.

The EFL released a statement on Tuesday saying that clubs voted in their vast majority to agree with the proposal that would see Leeds promoted to the Premier League if the Championship season did not resume for one reason or another.

After that vote, League One and League Two clubs voted to curtail their seasons while it seems that the Championship season will still resume on June 20, as planned.

Leeds are set to play Cardiff in South Wales next Saturday but there are still fears that there’ll be a second peak to the coronavirus pandemic.

We definitely do not want that to happen. Not only so that Leeds can finish the season but obviously because we want the COVID-19 outbreak to clear out completely.

But if that does happen and Leeds still have their top spot in the Championship, they’ll go up based on the new update from the EFL.

Leeds fans are delighted with the way the voting went on Tuesday and here is a selection of their tweets:
