‘Trade for Bamford’, ‘Phillips & £20m’ – Many rival PL fans react to Leeds transfer report

Wolves fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that Leeds United are interested in Molineux speedster Adama Traore.

According to football news website 90min, Leeds are interested in signing Traore, 24, ahead of the January transfer window with the Spaniard’s future in doubt at the West Midlands club.

Traore has started seven of Wolves’ 14 Premier League matches this season and has come off the bench on the other seven occasions. However, despite playing a role in every league game, the Spain international has failed to score or get an assist. After 14 games last season, he had two goals and three assists to his name.

Leeds are now reportedly interested in Traore with Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta keen to add more strength in depth to their winger department.

The Whites already have Jack Harrison, Ezgjan Alioski, Stuart Dallas, Ian Poveda, Helder Costa and summer signing Raphinha all on their books who can play out with while Tyler Roberts and Pablo Hernandez can also be used on the wing.

But Traore is now also reportedly a target and that has left plenty of Wolves fans talking on Twitter.

Some don’t believe Leeds could afford the former Aston Villa winger while others have suggested that swap deals for Patrick Bamford or Kalvin Phillips would be acceptable.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We don’t believe there’s anything in this transfer rumour.

Leeds have plenty of wide players in their squad and Bielsa is not a fan of signing players in January unless he has to.

It would be a massive shock if he splashes the cash on a player who’s not been at his best this season to add to an area of the squad that is already well-stocked.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has responded to a “frightening” claim about Bielsa’s future at the club.
