‘Tortured them… some will need counselling’ – Some Leeds fans in awe of one youngster for U23s
After the first team smashed Aston Villa 3-0 on Friday night, it was the turn of the Leeds United Under-23s on Sunday.
They beat Norwich 2-0 at Thorp Arch, although there were a number of very familiar faces in the side.
Kiko Casilla, Pascal Struijk, Pablo Hernandez, Raphinha, Ian Poveda and Tyler Roberts all started in a line-up that must have been intimidating for the visitors.
And it didn’t take long for Leeds to take the lead, with 20-year-old Poveda scoring after just two minutes.
It was a move started by Hernandez, carried on by Roberts and finished deftly by the winger who put on a masterclass as Thorp Arch.
He put himself on the map in the second half of the Premier League game against Man City, when he changed the match and forced Pep Guardiola to sub off Ben Mendy.
He’s behind Jack Harrison and Helder Costa in the first-team pecking order, but he’s sending out a very strong message to Biesla.
Having him as back-up shows the depth that Leeds have got in attack this season and we’re sure that we’re going to see a lot more of him this season.
Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to his latest display, with one saying, “Poveda tortured those Norwich players so much, some of them are going to need counselling.”
