'Amazing', 'Fantastic business' – These Leeds fans react to 'immense' Phil Hay transfer news

It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Leeds United have agreed a deal to take Man City winger Jack Harrison on loan for another season and fans are delighted... but also puzzled that he's not signing on a permanent deal.

There was an option in place to sign him this summer for £8m but that has now been renegotiated and the player will cost Leeds £10m next summer if they want to sign him. [Phil Hay]

Hay has said that Leeds intend to trigger the option next summer.

As reported elsewhere yesterday Leeds have agreed to take Jack Harrison on loan from Man City again next season. The original option to sign him permanently was in place until the end of May. It's been renegotiated and Leeds intend to to exercise it next summer now. #lufc

Plenty of Leeds fans have reacted to the news and while everyone is delighted that he's staying at Elland Road, there are obvious questions about the deal.

Why would Leeds want to kick the option down the road?

It could be an accounting reason, with the fee now not payable to Man City until next summer.

It's going to cost Leeds more money but it also seems that Man City are being very accommodating over the deal.

A few fans thought it was fantastic business and one said it would leave more money in the warchest for Ben White. We hope.

We're sure that Harrison will have been told that he will become a permanent Leeds player and at either £8m or £10m he looks real value for money.

Harrison has kicked on this season, scoring six goals and adding eight assists. And he's been unlucky not to get more, hitting the woodwork on a number of occasions.

These Leeds fans can't wait to see him in the Premier League and neither can we...

This sounds like a good deal as I can't see him breaking into the current Man City team.
Let's buy him permanently after the our first back in the Prem.

Would love to get him signed permanently right now but this is great business from the club. Freeing up funds to use elsewhere! Very smart decision. I think the days of poor transfer business are long gone. Radz, Kinnear and Orta have been a godsend.

One fan said that it would mean that Harrison wouldn't be eligible to play against Man City next season, which is a good point.

Let’s not forget he will miss 2 games against city at million just buy him think for a free Adam lalana and joe Harte would be good but if white goes we need 2 more CB at least plus 2 CM and a striker just for starters
