Leeds United fans have been left slightly disappointed by the progress of Mateusz Bogusz since he joined but he was absolutely tearing it up for the Poland Under-21s last night.

He scored two goals as his side smashed a sorry Estonia side 6-0, although he was taken off before he could secure his hat-trick.

Leeds fans were watching and were left impressed by the youngster, whose first-team chances have been in very short supply.

He’s made two senior appearances, playing 90 minutes as Leeds crashed out of the EFL Cup to Stoke on penalties last season, and then getting 17 minutes in the final game of last season’s Championship triumph.

Bogusz opened the scoring last night in just the fourth minute of the game and it was a beautiful goal. He flicked it over the head of the last defender and, after two bounces, flicked it over the head of the oncoming goalkeeper.

He added his second in the 58th minute and will have been disappointed to see his name flash up in the 76th minute as he looked for his first hat-trick for his country.

However, Leeds fans were very happy with what they saw.

Bogusz is going to find it even harder to stand out next season, with Leeds adding plenty of quality to their Under-23 ranks.

However, this performance won’t have gone unnoticed at Thorp Arch – it wasn’t by these Leeds fans…
