Some Leeds fans thrilled with recent striker reports: ‘Far better than Che Adams’, ‘Please’
Leeds United have been linked with a number of strikers this month to replace Eddie Nketiah and Watford’s Andre Gray is the latest to reportedly emerge on the club’s radar.
Phil Hay reported via a live Q&A session on The Athletic website on Tuesday that Leeds have made an enquiry about the 28-year-old forward but have seen their advances knocked back by Watford.
Gray has been a regular for Watford this season, appearing 21 times across all competitions and scoring two goals in the process.
He’s only started seven times in the Premier League this term but still seems to be in the plans of Watford boss Nigel Pearson, who has overseen a major upturn in the club’s fortunes in recent weeks.
It is understandable why Watford would not want to see players leave Vicarage Road this month due to their impressive form but former Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Hay did suggest that he see the Hornets’ stance on Gray changing as the January transfer window progresses.
These Leeds fans will certainly be hoping that anyway because they are thrilled with reports that Gray is on their club’s list of striker targets this month.

Southampton’s Che Adams is another striker who has been linked with Leeds and this next fan says that Gray is better than the former Birmingham ace.
Gray has scored 41 goals in 88 Championship appearances in his career while Adams has netted 34 in 116.
Gray is certainly the more proven out of the two.
In other Leeds United news, there’s been an update on Leeds’ pursuit of Aberdeen’s 20-goal striker Sam Cosgrove.
