‘Shocking’, ‘Has to be dropped’ – Many Leeds fans blast 27y/o who was ‘liability’ v Notts Forest

The Leeds United squad looked terribly deflated leaving the City Ground on Saturday as their terrible form continued with a 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest.

Sammy Ameobi gave the home side the lead in the first-half as his low shot caught out Kiko Casilla at his front post. The closest the Whites came to responding was Ezgjan Alioski who had a couple of long-range efforts.

The Macedonian was once again deployed at left-back, as Barry Douglas stepped up his recovery with 45 minutes in the under-23s against Derby on Friday evening.

Defensively, the 27-year-old has been caught out regularly in the past couple of months. Alioski may have made six tackles against Forest, he made numerous fouls – somehow only picking up a yellow card despite at least five bad challenges [WhoScored].

Alioski has the energy to make it work from a deeper position, but many Leeds fans have started to point out that he may be better moving forward back to his left-wing position.

That would be harsh on Jack Harrison. The Manchester City winger did excel on the right-hand side against Arsenal, and with Helder Costa struggling, he could drop out to move the left-back forward.

Leeds fans were not happy with Alioski one bit against Nottingham Forest, with many taking to Twitter to tear him apart after the 2-0 defeat.

Many Leeds fans decided to start predicting their starting 11 for the game against Brentford on Tuesday, and it was clear that Alioski was one of the men who should drop out.

After what feels like the longest two weeks ever, Kalvin Phillips will be back available for Marcelo Bielsa to utilise after his suspension concluded on Saturday – one change that is almost guaranteed to happen.
