Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has become somewhat of a forgotten figure at Elland Road in recent years.
The former Boro man has been out injured for over a year with a hip problem that he just can’t seem to shake at Thorp Arch.
Forshaw has completed two surgeries, including one in Colorado, but yet nothing has seemed to change on his condition.
Phil Hay shared an update on Sunday afternoon, and it didn’t make for great reading for those who wished to see Forshaw back sooner rather than later.
“Still isn’t ready and it’s very hard to know what comes next for him,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
“Been the best part of 18 months since he played in a game of any sort.”
It’s a massive shame for the Whites, who have been crying out for reinforcements in midfield this season to back up the likes of Mateusz Klich.
Marcelo Bielsa has also been reported to want to keep Forshaw and get him back in the under-23s to build his fitness – something that may not come soon enough for the midfielder.
Many Leeds fans have reacted to the news that Forshaw still isn’t ready, with the majority admittedly gutted for the midfielder.
Some claimed that his time could have come to an end at Elland Road, and the Whites could look to offload him as soon as possible.
MOT Leeds News have picked out some of the best reactions below…
Such a shame that if he doesn’t come back, how his role in the team at the start of our promotion season will go under the radar. I remember for months after he got injured, we would regularly talk of how important he would be when he came back

Tragedy. I remember Stoke and Bristol away at the start of the promotion season. Quietly, he ran both games. Played through the press nicely, good touch, great awareness, lovely switches of play, positionally excellent. Re-watch Dallas' goal, from the start. Feel for the lad.

Surely he's gonna have to be medically retired at some point

I think his time is up at Leeds which is a shame because I like him as a player and a very good passer of the ball. I think if he was fit he would of definitely been a big part of the team this season just seems like he’s never going to be fit.

Gutted for lad tbf I like him. Think he’d of been a good option for us in midfield when Phillips has been out. Any news on transfer front mate?
