Leeds United winger Helder Costa has had a season to forget so far in the Premier League.
He started well before hitting a really bad patch of form that saw him dropped from the side and then the squad.
He’s worked his way back onto the bench from the Under-23s and he was given a chance to show what he could do in the second half tonight.
Jack Harrison was taken off and some fans were fearing the worst when Costa was shown to be his replacement.

However, Costa had a brilliant start to the half, chasing back to thwart a really dangerous Southampton counter.
It led to one Leeds fan saying, “Looooooove to see Helder Costa tracking back there. That’s all that’s asked!”
Another said he’d had a “personality transplant”.
He was at it again later on, chasing a seemingly lost cause to win a free-kick from nothing. Oh, and he made two goals and almost scored one of his own.
We thought that Costa’s time could be up in the summer but he’s going to get a few chances to prove us wrong.
If he can show that he’s playing for the team and giving 100% then he might still be able to live up to his £15m price tag. We know he’s got the talent, now we want to see the effort.
These fans weren’t expecting to be singing the praises of Costa but that’s the good thing about Leeds at the moment – they’re constantly surprising.
Here are the best reactions to Costa’s display tonight…

#lufc now we’re playing. Players putting themselves on the line. Superb Costa, chasing back. Bamford; Ivant figure whether he’s good, or in the right team! Southampton in Defence are woeful. More goals here. For Leeds, I’d think! 👍
