Leeds United fans have blasted Ezgjan Alioski for his first-half performance against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Alioski has often struggled to perform at left-back in the Premier League and he was often found out by Arsenal’s attackers in North London in the opening 45 minutes of this match.

Bukayo Saka had the better of Alioski almost all the time and he was fortunate that a penalty against the Arsenal man was overturned after Liam Cooper was initially adjudged to have found him.

Alioski was nowhere near Saka as he runs towards the penalty area in the build-up, pretty much playing his team-mates into trouble.

Some Leeds fans on Twitter have refused to offer any sympathy towards the North Macedonia international, who has spent more of his career playing as an attacker down the left-wing.

To put it simply, Alioski isn’t a left-back. He wasn’t amazing there in the Championship and is struggling there – expectedly – in the Premier League.

One Leeds fan wants to see the ex-Lugano man to “get off this pitch” at half-time but who does Bielsa throw on to replace him?

Either way, here is a selection of their tweets:

It remains to be seen what Marcelo Bielsa will do to dig Leeds out their three-goal deficit at Arsenal but taking Alioski off is unlikely to be on his mind.

Leeds’ midfield injury crisis means Stuart Dallas is needed there and unless someone like Tyler Roberts comes on and plays centrally, we doubt Alioski will be shifted any time soon.

Bielsa, however, does spring the odd surprise every now and then so let’s see how he plays this.
