Leeds United fans have been desperate to see Ben White back at Elland Road but they might be about to hit breaking point.

After Sky reported that Leeds had two bids rejected for White, the second for £22m, Football Insider reported on Wednesday that Brighton have now turned down a £30m bid for the centre-back.

That's a huge bid for a player who hasn't played higher than the Championship before and there are plenty of Leeds fans who think that the club should move onto other targets now.

That would be a huge shame. White was a massive part of the side that took Leeds to the Premier League. And having a top-quality centre-back is absolutely key in the modern game. Look at the impact that Virgil van Dijk has made at Liverpool.

But, every player has his price. Leeds aren't awash with money and can't afford to spend the sort of money that Man City or Chelsea can this summer.

White could well be worth way more than £30m in the future if he lives up to his potential in the Premier League.

But Leeds need to strengthen other areas of the side this summer not just defence. A new striker is a must and he won't come cheap.

Leeds can't be held to ransom by Brighton and, equally, if they don't want to sell the Whites need to move on.

One fan said the £30m bid was "Mega" money, while another said the only way he could see the move happening now is if White forced a move through. He said "Player power" could still see White back at Elland Road.
