‘I just want him gone and out of my club’ – Many Leeds fans destroy ‘Trash’ player at HT v Boro
It’s been another half of football without Patrick Bamford getting on the scoresheet for Leeds United.
Bamford, 26, has been in woeful goalscoring form in recent weeks with the striker scoring in just one of his last 11 appearances across all competitions.
He had a golden opportunity to score a header in the first half against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday night but directed his tame effort straight at the home side’s goalkeeper.
Bamford just cannot buy a goal at the moment and it’s not as if Marcelo Bielsa can hook him off at half time or in the second half as Jean-Kevin Augustin has failed to make the squad for whatever reason.
And even if Augustin was on the bench, would he have made much of a difference?
It’s not just Bamford who squanders chances, we need to remember that.
There is something about the whole squad where chances are missed on a regular basis and you would imagine that Bielsa has worked hard in training to stamp that issue out of his side.
Still, it is getting harder and harder to defend Bamford at the moment.
He really should have stuck Luke Ayling’s inch-perfect cross into the back of the net or at the very least made the goalkeeper work for it.
A large section of Leeds fans are not happy with the ex-Chelsea striker on Twitter and here is a selection of their tweets:
