‘Goosebumps’, ‘What a day’ – Some Leeds fans delighted by official Championship tweet

Leeds United fans are loving a tweet posted by the official Championship account on Saturday, showing the Whites scoring against West Brom last season.

It is the first day of the EFL being suspended until April and the Championship’s social media admin has already opted to cheer up Leeds supporters by showing Pablo Hernandez’s quickfire goal in the 4-0 win over Albion last term.

Just 16 seconds had passed before Hernandez stuck the ball past Sam Johnstone, sparking belief among Leeds supporters that their return to the Premier League was on the cards.

However, as we all know, things didn’t pan out that way but the 4-0 win over a side as good as West Brom was no doubt a highlight of Marcelo Bielsa’s first season in charge.

It is going to be a tough few weeks – perhaps months – without football due to the global coronavirus pandemic, so we can expect to see a lot more tweets like this from official channels, who are bound to struggle for new content.

Let’s just hope they don’t show the second leg of the Derby play-off any time soon.

Leeds fans were delighted to see Hernandez’s goal in all it’s glory once more and here is a selection of their tweets:

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has responded to a 75 per cent rule that some fans believe would help the Whites seal promotion.
