Leeds United fans have hit out at Gabriel Agbonlahor after the former Aston Villa striker claimed Marcelo Bielsa should not be nominated for FIFA’s manager of the year award.
Bielsa will face off against Jurgen Klopp, Zinedine Zidane, Hans-Dieter Flick and Julen Lopetegui for FIFA’s top prize after leading Leeds back to the Premier League as Championship champions.
๐ Time to get voting! Marcelo has been nominated for @FIFAcom's #TheBest Men's Coach award…

However, Bielsa’s nomination hasn’t gone down too well in some quarters – and for some reason, it’s those associated with Aston Villa who are getting involved the most.
Villa-supporting Telegraph journalist Matt Law has shockingly claimed that Bielsa did not do a better job than Dean Smith last season while ex-Villan Agbonlahor has once again taken aim at the Leeds manager.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday morning, Agbonlahor said itโs “a bit ridiculous for him to be in that top five”.
He added: โThere are so many great managers in world football who have done a better job then Bielsa. So, Iโm quite shocked.
โI think you have to give it to the Bayern Munich manager for how heโs smashed every team in the Champions League. But Bielsaโฆ Iโm lost for words.โ
It’s fair enough for Agbonlahor to say he thinks Flick should win the award – he’s the Champions League-winning manager after all. But for him to take a swipe at Bielsa – again – just shows he has an agenda against the Leeds boss.
Leeds fans are simply bored of hearing the former striker’s voice now, especially when it comes to something he clearly doesn’t have a clue about.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Haha what a clown. He took a team in the championship who came 15th to champions in two years with almost the same players. Now heโs out coaching teams that have spent more on one player than he has on his team. He should be number one! In relative terms heโs the best manager

Anyone who thinks Bielsa was nominated because he only got @lufc promoted is clueless to the great mans approach to the game. Itโs still great viewing on here though. ๐ keep it going haters. ๐๐๐ค๐

@TheSquareBall Gabby is crying again

Considering how often he talks about Leeds then subsequently brings out the fishing emoji in the laziest fashion possible, I get the impression this isnโt the place for any form of sensible discussion. Heโs on Talksport for crying out loud.

We all know Gobby has an agenda against Leeds and Bielsa but unless your Leeds you will never understand the impact he has had on the club and City as a whole

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared what Bielsa told Victor Orta when Raphinha was suggested as a signing.
