Leeds United fans have been singing the praises of Angus Kinnear after the managing director confirmed the club’s stance on completing the season.
On Thursday, it was announced that if the EFL seasons cannot be completed by the remaining fixtures being played then final standings are likely to be decided by the points-per-game system.
Leeds’ players have always taken the stance that they want to finish the season by playing their remaining nine matches.
If the Whites are going to win promotion back to the Premier League then doing it by their on-field performances is the best way to do it.
Although the points-per-game system would hand United promotion and the Championship title, no one wants there to be any doubts about the promotion. We don’t want an asterisk next to 2019/20 in the annals of history, we want as proper a promotion as we can get.
Kinnear has spoken very well about this in his latest column on the Yorkshire Evening Post website.
He believes that if the Bundesliga can resume then so can the Premier League and Championship, claiming it would be a “national embarrassment” if they did not resume.
Leeds fans are understandably delighted with the tone that Kinnear has taken in his words and here is a selection of their tweets:
This para was brilliant 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
For Leeds United the breath-taking speed of our breakaway play should make us the poster boys of social distancing and I have absolute faith in Luke Ayling’s ability to choreograph some Covid compatible goal celebrations.

Brilliant article this Graham and great to know the Players share some of us fans views that they have earned the right to achieve it proper way and not handed it!
Angus is bang on too regarding if other Leagues can do it then ours should too, especially with the finances!
So proud of how the club has been run off the pitch under Kinnear, Orta & Radrizzani. May seem something relatively small but this wasn't the case for so many years under Bates & Cellino – we were a joke for a long time. I think they deserve promotion as much as the fans/players. https://t.co/9Ya0VrjQk3

Sassy Angus at his very best!

Angus bang on. Can't see how our fans can be so keen to finish the season then when offered a route out literally stitch lots of other clubs up? We are Leeds, we'll finish our job on the pitch not in a meeting room.

Love our club xx

Absolutely right. Finish this on the pitch. I can understand fans wanting to cut and run, but it willl be forever tainted as far as I’m concerned.
