Leeds United fans have been singing the praises of Angus Kinnear after the managing director confirmed the club’s stance on completing the season.

On Thursday, it was announced that if the EFL seasons cannot be completed by the remaining fixtures being played then final standings are likely to be decided by the points-per-game system.

Leeds’ players have always taken the stance that they want to finish the season by playing their remaining nine matches.

If the Whites are going to win promotion back to the Premier League then doing it by their on-field performances is the best way to do it.

Although the points-per-game system would hand United promotion and the Championship title, no one wants there to be any doubts about the promotion. We don’t want an asterisk next to 2019/20 in the annals of history, we want as proper a promotion as we can get.

Kinnear has spoken very well about this in his latest column on the Yorkshire Evening Post website.

He believes that if the Bundesliga can resume then so can the Premier League and Championship, claiming it would be a “national embarrassment” if they did not resume.
