'Another injury', 'I give up' – These Leeds fans hating int'l break as player suffers setback

The international break has claimed another victim, with Leeds United star Gjanni Alioski set to return early after his heroics in the Europa 2020 play-off final.

Alioski helped North Macedonia quality for their first major international tournament with a 1-0 win over Georgia.

However, since then he was unable to complete a training session with his country.

Manager Igor Angelovski said he had “swelling on his hamstring” and he is set to return to Leeds.

We don’t have any more news about how serious the injury is but he must be a doubt for the game against Arsenal on Sunday.

Given that, it’s even more important that Kalvin Phillips can make his return from injury.

Plenty of Leeds fans are joining fans of other clubs – most notably Liverpool, who have been hit with injuries the hardest – in slamming the international break, packed with three fixtures in the space of two weeks.

The Nations League is just not important enough to risk players’ health and now we can only hope that the rest of our players come back unscathed.

One fan summed our position up perfectly when he said, “Just what we don’t want to hear! Alioski injured! These internationals shouldn’t be happening at this time!”

Here are the best of the rest of the reactions to the news about Alioski.
