Wilfried Gnonto could be replaced by ‘unknown’ player at Leeds United amid exit talk
Dan Bardell has suggested that Wilfried Gnonto could stay at Leeds United this summer but has outlined what sort of player they could replace him with.
Due to Leeds missing out on promotion, they may be forced into selling players this summer.
Among their most sellable assets are Cyrsencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Gnonto, who are all likely to have suitors.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes the latter might stay if his activity in last summer’s window is anything to go by.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “If Gnonto goes then they’ll need to replace him. They probably won’t be able to sign a ready-made replacement.
“It would be signing someone who is more unknown and has good potential that they can build up and potentially sell on in the future.
“I thought that Gnonto might have gone last summer but he didn’t and he’ll be linked to a whole host of clubs this summer again but I could see him staying at Leeds again.“

It has to be said that when the Whites missed out on promotion from the Championship, the main concern was losing the majority of the squad.
There are various key players who would have been of interest to sides in the Premier League and from abroad over the summer.
Gnonto is one player who has been linked with a move away in the past but nothing ever came to pass and he remained at Elland Road.
He didn’t have as much impact as he did in his spells with the club in the Premier League but still showed signs of positivity in the Championship.

Daniel Farke will be considering options to replace him should he seek a move this summer but there is no guarantee he will leave just yet.
With the investment from Red Bull Leeds may have more wiggle room in the transfer market to keep hold of their stars heading into next season.
