Victor Orta exit from Leeds United could be on the cards amid 49ers update – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson admits there could be a restructure behind the scenes at Leeds United if the San Fransisco 49ers complete a full takeover at Elland Road this summer.
On 24 May, The Telegraph reported that the 49ers, who are currently minority shareholders at Elland Road, could push to complete a full takeover this summer after Leeds survived the drop in 2021/22.
It is understood that if they do become the new majority owners of the Yorkshire club, they will spend more money than current owner Andrea Radrizzani.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Radrizzani if the 49ers buy Leeds off him completely while Robinson admits a move from the NFL franchise could throw Victor Orta’s job as director of football up in the air.
However, Robinson feels that Orta’s done a good enough job at Elland Road to be safe in the event of a takeover, although the Sky pundit admits that it’s still a possibility there’ll be a shake-up in the boardroom.
“If there are new owners, nobody’s safe,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News when asked if Orta’s job could be threated by a takeover.
“I think Victor is highly regarded in the game. He’s got a great reputation.
“If he was to ever leave, they would do well to find someone at that level who do the recruitment side of things.
“I think Victor’s pretty safe because of how good he is at his job, his past record and his passion and love for the club. You’ll find it very difficult to replace him with someone with those qualities.

“I think he’s pretty safe but when new owners come in you don’t know what structure they want or whether they want a manager, a sporting director, director of football or chief scout.
“All sorts of different scenarios come in to play.”
Orta was brought to Elland Road by Radrizzani in May 2017 as the Italian businessman was completing his own full takeover at the Yorkshire club.
He’s since been responsible for a tremendous number of terrible signings while there have also been some really good additions scattered around throughout the years.
Ezgjan Alioski, Matuesz Klich, Jack Harrison, Illan Meslier and Raphinha are easily among the best of Orta’s recruits.
Jay-Roy Grot, Ouasium Bouy and Pierre-Michel Lasogga are among the flops.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites reportedly want to sign this promotion-winning South American forward who could replace Raphinha.
