Tyler Adams exit prediction emerges at Leeds United as deal starts to get done

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has tipped Leeds United standout Tyler Adams to depart the club this summer while determining the club’s areas of weakness.

Adams was a silver lining in Leeds’ otherwise disastrous season. That sliver lining however could see change into a memory as the American has been linked with a move back to the Premier League [The Athletic].

Following relegation, the Whites will also be mindful of areas in need of recruitment. With many other players likely to exit, it can be difficult for manager Daniel Farke to determine where needs strengthening most before he has a full picture of his squad.

Robinson has claimed the USMNT star was Leeds’ best player “by far” and will most certainly be on the move, but also reiterates that Leeds’ defence must be addressed.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “The defence clearly needs looking at. Left-back is an area of weakness and has been all of last season as well. If Liam Cooper is going to stay they’ll need a centre-half partner for him now Robin Koch has left.

It will depend on what happens with Max Wober. He looked good when he came in at the end of last year. I can’t see the club keeping hold of Tyler Adams, he was outstanding last season and the best player by a long way and was hugely missed when he was injured last season.

“Weston McKennie has obviously gone back, so that’s another space in the squad that needs addressing. There are young players like Gnonto and Sinisteria that they want to keep at the club too.

But the biggest area of recruitment is going to be known when you know who their outgoings are. The manager has to shape his squad to see what he wants before he can go to certain areas.”

In other Leeds United news, Robinson also claims that Farke is already under pressure at Elland Road amid high expectation from the new ownership group.
