Tottenham stance on Manor Solomon return shared amid Leeds United doubts
Don Goodman believes the only reason Manor Solomon will return to Tottenham early is if he is not playing regularly for Leeds United.
BBC journalist Jonny Buchan recently suggested the winger could see his season-long spell at Elland Road cut short if he fails to make much more of an impact before January.
Solomon has played eight times in the Championship so far this season and has just one goal involvement to his name.
However, Goodman believes Tottenham will be happy for Solomon to stay on in Yorkshire as long as he is given a chance to contribute.
“Leeds have plenty of quality in those areas of the pitch, but Largie Ramazani’s injury has opened a space for Solomon,” Goodman told MOT Leeds News.
“It all depends on the player himself. Can he keep himself fit and can he force himself to become a regular starter? We’re still only in the first half of November so there’s a whole lot of of football to play.
“The only reason he’d return to Spurs early is if he’s not getting regular action. But Tottenham will also recognise the only way that will happen is if he’s fit and performing. It’s down to him to get fit and make an impact, and if so there’s then no reason for him to return to Spurs.”
Manor Solomon needs to step up Leeds United performance levels
It must be remembered that Solomon is a Premier League-quality player who likely would have been playing regularly at that level if not for injury.
Bringing him in on loan was considered a major coup for Leeds in the summer, but the switch has not quite gone to plan just yet.
Indeed, when handed a start in the 2-0 win over QPR on Saturday (9 November) he again failed to perform. In the view of one pundit, Leeds were effectively playing a player light.

The bottom line is that Solomon has one assist and zero goals in 383 minutes of action this season. With a squad bursting full of attacking quality, that simply needs to improve.
Solomon can certainly play his part in this promotion push, and the key now is to find some momentum to prove he is deserving of regular starts.
