Leeds United took a respectable point away from Brentford on Sunday afternoon, but it could have been so much better for the Whites.
Leeds drew 1-1 against Brentford, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring yet again to cancel out an undeserved opener from Jordan Henderson.
Brentford were awarded a soft penalty in the first half, which was overturned by VAR, yet Nathan Collins was not penalised for dragging Calvert-Lewin to the ground later on.
Daniel Farke was not happy with John Brooks, but other reasoning has now been revealed.
Leeds correctly not given penalty vs Brentford?
There was initial outrage when Leeds weren't handed a penalty, and that has continued.
However, MOT Leeds News has learned that it was an earlier offside in the sequence that made it impossible to punish the foul from Collins.
Ex-PGMOL chief Keith Hackett has revealed that new evidence has come to light to defend Brooks and VAR after the incident.
"I understand that the reason a penalty kick was not awarded at Leeds United was that the player was offside when the ball was played," Hackett exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin for England?
Calvert-Lewin has been backed for an England spot at the 2026 World Cup, with understudies hard to come by for Harry Kane at this moment in time.
Ollie Watkins isn't firing, and Ivan Toney has had his own complications since moving to Saudi Arabia.
Looking at the above graphic, with Kane included for comparison, only Danny Welbeck has outperformed Calvert-Lewin this season.
Despite that, it feels much more likely that the Leeds star would be trusted by Thomas Tuchel, given his age profile and aerial dominance, to make a difference.
With Kane liking to drop deep, having Calvert-Lewin to come on against more physical sides to occupy defenders in games could be a real weapon for the Three Lions.
All he can keep doing is firing in goals and help Leeds survive Premier League relegation.
