Surprise Glen Kamara transfer on cards at Leeds United in crucial new update
Dan Bardell believes that Leeds United need to keep Glen Kamara after losing Archie Gray amid transfer links to Rennes.
Corriere dello Sport have reported (4 July, page 15) that the Whites were moving closer to agreeing terms over a transfer.
Now Adam Pope has suggested (5 July) that a deal is yet to be agreed with Leeds potentially reluctant to complete a deal for the Finland international.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks that after the departure of Gray, Kamara must stay at Elland Road beyond this summer.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “Considering Leeds have just lost a midfield player in Archie Gray, you would think Kamara becomes more crucial.
“If the opportunity to make a substantial profit was there then you can understand it. I wouldn’t say that selling him would allow them to hold on to someone like Summerville.
“I would say that Leeds need to keep hold of him and I’m surprised that they’re even thinking of letting him go.“
Leeds United could sell Glen Kamara
So far Gray is the only star name who has left Elland Road this summer while Crysencio Summerville continues to be linked away.
Although he often played at right back under Daniel Farke, when he featured in midfield Kamara was often his partner.
The 28-year-old joined from Rangers last summer and went on to play a starring role as Leeds clocked up 90 points in the Championship.

Now it appears as if he could be facing the exit door at Elland Road after just one year with Rennes showing an interest.
If the Ligue 1 side offers a fee that Leeds can’t turn down then Kamara could depart but otherwise, they need to keep hold of him moving into the new season.
