Struggling Leeds United players have slate wiped clean by Jesse Marsch – Sky pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson doesn’t expect Jesse March to have made any conclusions about his Leeds United players until he’s seen them properly.
Whether or not Leeds get relegated this season, you would imagine that the summer transfer window will be a very busy one for Victor Orta.
There are some players in the Leeds side who are below par, as we’ve seen on numerous occasions this season, but new manager Marsch isn’t going to be passing judgment just yet, according to Robinson.

“I think when a new manager comes in, everyone gets a clean slate,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News. “But any manager who’s worth his salt will make his opinion on players very quickly and try to fit them into the way he wants to play.
“There will be players who are there that’ll fit in his system and there’ll be players there who he already has pre-conceived ideas of.
“It’ll be interesting to see but you can’t talk about players’ futures because he’s going to need every single one of them between now and the end of the season.
“He can’t start judging players, saying, ‘I’m going to get rid of this player or I’m going to being x-amount of players in’.
“The last thing he needs to focus on is the summer transfer window because his budget could be very different if he hasn’t got the players on board now.
“He needs every single one of those players in that squad fit and onside to get them out of the mess they’re in.”

Leeds’ squad depth is very weak so there are unlikely to be many question marks over fringe players in the summer because, well, there aren’t that many fringe players.
Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton are two who spring to mind but there’s no doubt that the focus will be on Kalvin Phillips and Raphinh come the summer.
