Sky Sports pundit wowed by ‘vitally important’ Leeds United appointment
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has praised the appointment of Nick Hammond as football advisor at Leeds United.
The 55-year-old, who previously held a similar role at Celtic, was confirmed as the club’s acting advisor on 15 June after Victor Orta’s departure.
Robinson has since reacted to the appointment as believes recruitment can now begin in earnest with Hammond at the club.

“It’s important because that’s the recruitment side of things,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“If it’s not going to be a permanent one – the ideal would be permanent – it’s important to have someone in place who can work alongside the manager and for a long time.
“I suspect the owners will have the sporting director and between them, they will recruit the manager.

“Then the player recruitment side of things takes place after that. It’s vitally important as there are going to be a number of outgoing and incomings.”
Leeds have also been linked to Norwich City chief Stuart Webber, who is set to leave his role at Carrow Road after serving his notice.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
