Sky Sports pundit slams Leeds United over deals for Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson is underwhelmed by Leeds United deals for Brenden Aaronson and Ramsus Kristensen.
Jesse Marsch has raided his former club Red Bull Salzburg for midfielder Aaronson, 21, and right-back Kristensen, 24, in what has been a lightning-quick start to the summer transfer window at Elland Road.
It looks as though Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca could be next to join [Fabrizio Romano] but so far, ex-goalkeeper Robinson isn’t too impressed by the club’s business.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “Kristensen and Aaronson are not players who fill you with excitement from a Leeds fan’s point of view.
“They’re not players you think are going to immediately have an impact and keep you in the Premier League.
“The last thing Leeds want is to be 17th again and just about staying in the Premier League.
“They need to invest properly in this side and the manager needs to get some proper players in, players who are tried and tested and players who are going to excite the Leeds fans.
“If there’s a potential of them losing Kalvin Phillips or Raphinha, Aaronson and Kristensen aren’t going to soften any type of blow.”
Aaronson and Kristensen are both internationals for the USA and Demark respectively and were in good form in the Champions League in 2021/22.
Ex-Philadelphia Union attacking midfielder Aaronson assisted goals in each leg of Salzburg’s knock-out round defeat to Bayern Munich while Kristensen made more tackles than anyone else in the Champions League while he was in it [WhoScored].
In other Leeds United news, a club is “guaranteed” to cash in on this Elland Road-linked forward.
