Sky Sports pundit shares £75m Raphinha view amid Leeds United contract stand-off

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Paul Robinson wants Leeds United to get at least £75million for Raphinha if the winger is sold in the summer transfer window.

On 29 January, 90min reported that a £50million approach from West Ham was made for the 25-year-old Brazil international.

It was reported that Leeds are trying to get Raphinha tied down to a new deal but, as it stands, “he’s unlikely to sign a new contract” and “would be interested in a move to London if the club were to give their blessing”.

Leeds fans are unlikely to be happy to hear that news and Robinson feels that his former club will have no choice but to sell the Brazilian star in the summer if he does want to move on.

But only if it’s for a big fee.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “I wouldn’t settle for less than £75million.

That’s how valuable he is to Leeds and I think if £75million is put back into the Leeds squad, it can buy three or four top-class players for £20-25million each.

That’ll bolster the side and I don’t think it would be a bad bit of business.

It’s important that he commits himself to Leeds between now and the end of the season and doesn’t forget what’s got him to where he is now. His hard work and the type of player and person he is. He has to remain the same.

And if there’s a deal to be done at the end of the season and he doesn’t want to stay, Leeds should cash in and reinvest in the side.

He’s a quality, world-class player and the money will be there for him from three or four clubs. But I wouldn’t let him go for less than £75million.”
