Sky Sports pundit fires 49ers and Leeds United warning over potential USA scouting at World Cup

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.

Paul Robinson has warned against the 49ers and Leeds United using the World Cup to scout more American players ahead of the January transfer window.

The Sky Sports pundit has insisted that he would be reluctant to welcome more Americans despite the success of Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams, with the future of Jesse Marsch still uncertain.

Victor Orta is said to be in Qatar throughout the tournament, and will likely be with his transfer team as they look ahead of the winter window that is quickly approaching.

“I was surprised that Brenden Aaronson didn’t start,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“I’m glad that Tyler Adams got the captaincy, though, taking it off Pulisic and gave the players a vote so it shows what standing Adams has in the dressing room.

“I think you’ve just got to be careful of signing too many of the manager’s former players, or a better phrase, too many American players because he’s not going to be there forever to a certain level, so I’d be reluctant.”

Warning.

With the 49ers closing in on their full takeover of the club, they may get much more of a say in the transfer windows, starting in January after the World Cup.

All eyes will be on Elland Road once that does happen, and this World Cup is the perfect place to start adding to reports on players that may be targeted.

More Americans coming in? A big warning has been attached.
