Sky Sports pundit admits he was wrong about Leeds United as he gushes over Brenden Aaronson

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Paul Robinson admits he was surprised by how well Leeds United played in their 2-1 win over Wolves at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Jesse Marsch’s side came from behind to grab all three points thanks to a goal by Rodrigo and a 74th-minute own-goal by Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Brenden Aaronson was one of a number of players making their competitive Leeds United debut against Bruno Lage’s side and he made a big impact, helping to force the own goal that won the Whites the game.

Robinson was happy with Leeds’ all-around performance in West Yorkshire at the weekend but it was 21-year-old attacker Aaronson who particularly stood out for him.

“I thought he played well again,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

I’ll admit I was surprised by the performance and how well they played against Wolves, who are an established Premier League side.

Granted, Wolves are struggling for a striker at the moment and they’ve got no real firepower. I think they struggled to cause problems for Leeds in that area.

I look at the Leeds team and I still think they’re light in certain areas but Aaronson has come in and out of all the signings, he’s impressed me the most.

He’s made the biggest impact and he’s playing in the position that Raphinha left so he’s got huge boots to fill. The early signs for him are positive.

The others are going to take more time to settle into the team.

Marc Roca and Tyler Adams did okay in the holding midfield roles.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Leeds between now and the end of the window.

They need to keep hold of Jack Harrison if they can but out of all the new signings, Aaronson has impressed me the most.”

In other Leeds United news, it’s been confirmed that this player has agreed to quit Elland Road.
