‘Shows the level Leeds are at’ – Exclusive: Pundit claims hunt for 22yo shows huge Orta ambition
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson thinks that Juan Foyth would be a good buy for Leeds because of his versatility at the back.
He said the reports linking the player show where Leeds are heading as they’re targeting players from a top-four Premier League side.
Robinson played for both Leeds and Tottenham and thinks that Foyth could be a good replacement for Ben White if the talented young centre-back leaves at the end of his loan spell.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “Ben White has been my player of the year but I think Leeds are going to really struggle to hold onto him.
“Loaning him again is probably Leeds’ best shot of keeping hold of him but if he does go then Foyth would be a great addition.
“It just shows the market Leeds are in. They’re looking at players from Tottenham who are a top-four Premier League club.
“Leeds are now looking at players in that bracket and building for the future.
“I think Foyth would be a good addition as he can play in the centre at the back – and I think Leeds are going to struggle to hold onto Ben White – as well as across the back four.”
Leeds fans will still be holding out hope that White stays, especially after Adam Forshaw was quoted as saying, “He loves it here, absolutely loves it” on a recent episode of the Leeds That podcast.
However, if he does go elsewhere, we think Foyth could be a real talent.
He hasn’t lived up to his promise at Tottenham yet but has broken into the Argentina national team and Marcelo Bielsa could be the perfect manager to point his fellow countryman back in the right direction.
