Sky pundit blasts ‘unreliable’ Junior Firpo, suggests he doesn’t deserve to play for Leeds United
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Junior Firpo doesn’t deserve to be playing for Leeds United right now due to his form, according to Paul Robinson.
Since joining from Barcelona in the summer, 25-year-old Firpo has struggled for consistency at Leeds and has had regular issues with injuries.
Speaking on talkSPORT earlier this week [12 April], Jesse March confirmed that the left-back is returning to training after his most recent spell on the sidelines that has seen him miss four games.

In those four games, Leeds have won three times and earned a draw against Southampton to move themselves away from the Premier League’s relegation zone.
And even though Firpo is likely to be available to play against Crystal Palace next time out on 25 April, Robinson doesn’t want him to get on the pitch, suggesting he’ll weaken the team.
“I don’t think Firpo needs game time, I think he’s been poor and doesn’t deserve game time. I don’t think he’s been good enough this season,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“I wouldn’t be giving players game time at the detriment of the starting 11.
“It was a strong side against Watford, and the week before, and they got good results.
“I don’t see a reason to change it just to give players game time, especially somebody who’s been as unreliable as someone like Firpo has been this season.”
Firpo has made 22 appearances in all competitions since joining Leeds for £12.8million in the summer.
He’s been booked a staggering nine times in his 19 Premier League matches.
Luckily for Firpo, as Leeds have now played 32 games, he’s not at risk of a two-match ban for a 10th yellow card when he returns.
In other Leeds United news, this “exciting” player is worse off under Marsch than he was when Marcelo Bielsa was in charge.
