Pundit View: Adam Forshaw suffers minor injury knock at Leeds United

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Adam Forshaw is carrying a knock and that’s why he was left out of the Leeds United starting line-up at Leicester on Saturday, according to Paul Robinson.

Forshaw, 30, was surprisingly named on the bench in Jesse Marsch’s first game in charge as the Whites lost 1-0 at the King Power Stadium on 5 March.

The ex-Middlesbrough midfielder did get substituted on for the final 20 minutes but Robinson feels he may have had his game-time reduced due to a minor injury setback.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News about Forshaw, Robinson said: “I think he’s carrying a little bit of a knock.

You can’t read too much into Marsch’s team selection because we’ve talked about it before, the squad’s not big enough to make that many changes.

This is a team that Marcelo Bielsa would’ve sent out with the same personnel in the same formation. But they’ve now got a new voice and new instruction.

I don’t think Forshaw has anything to worry about and when he’s fit, he’ll play.”

Forshaw has been one of the surprise stars of the season at Leeds.

He returned from almost two years of injury hell at the start of the campaign and had been a regular for Bielsa even before Kalvin Phillips’ long-term injury blow.

Forshaw has had a couple of niggling issues in recent months but nothing has kept him out of a Premier League matchday squad for more than two games in a row since September.

In other Leeds United news, this senior player is in a precarious position at Elland Road after what happened at the weekend.
