Pundit reacts to Adam Forshaw injury news ahead of Leeds United clash v Aston Villa
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson is delighted to hear that Adam Forshaw should be available for Leeds United on Wednesday when they take on Aston Villa.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Friday [4 February] that Forshaw, 30, is “set to be back available” at Villa Park in the coming days after missing the defeat to Newcastle last time out.
Robinson feels Forshaw has solved the issue Leeds have in their midfield when Kalvin Phillips has been unavailable and is delighted that he’ll be back for the Villa game.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “He’s been the best player of the season so far, especially because they’ve missed Kalvin Phillips for so long.
“We always talk about who plays when Phillips is out. Does Diego Llorente play in there? Does Robin Koch play in there? Does Stuart Dallas play in there?
“They hadn’t found a solution but Forshaw’s return to the squad this season has been like a new signing.
“He’s been outstanding and with him coming back into the side, the lack of signings in January won’t come back to haunt us.”

Forshaw has been a stand-out player for Marcelo Bielsa this season.
He’s played 18 times in all competitions, covering every blade of grass twice over at every stadium he’s played at.
Forshaw has gone from someone who many fans were writing off due to his injury issues to a player who’s irreplaceable and one of the first on Bielsa’s teamsheet.
Leeds’ chances of winning at Aston Villa on Wednesday will improve with the ex-Middlesbrough ace available.
