Paul Robinson wants Leeds United to sign two more players before deadline
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson wants Leeds United to add two more new players to their squad before the transfer window closes on August 31.
Junior Firpo and Kristoffer Klaesson are the only two new additions who’ve been signed to play a first-team role this summer.
On Monday, Dharmesh Sheth reported on Sky Sports News that Leeds are “looking to add a winger and a midfielder but they won’t be panicking about making signings”.
Ex-Leeds goalkeeper Robinson is not worried about the lack of activity at Elland Road and nor is he worried about the dreaded second-season syndrome.
However, in order to push out, Robinson would like to see Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta push through more signings before the transfer window shuts at the end of this month.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “Leeds’ squad is definitely good enough to stay in the league again but it’s the second season and it’s difficult.

“We saw how Sheffield United did in their second season. I’m not comparing them for one minute because Leeds have a better squad than they had.
“But Leeds haven’t had much of a break because they had a lot of players at the Euros and I’m surprised by the lack of signings.
“I still think there will be more to come. I think the squad is strong enough but I’d still like to see a couple more come in.”
Leeds have been strongly linked with Huddersfield midfielder Lewis O’Brien in recent weeks after Crystal Palace beat them to the signing of Conor Gallagher.
In other Leeds United news, Stan Collymore wants the Whites to sign this £70million-rated player after a stunning performance at the weekend.
