Paul Robinson reacts to what Ross McCormack did in Leeds United win v Sheffield Wednesday
Paul Robinson thinks it is great to see former Leeds United Ross McCormack displaying his passion after he was videoed with supporters in the recent win over Sheffield Wednesday.
The ex-Leeds goal admitted he had not seen the footage himself, with McCormack spotted with the away supporters on the concourse at Hillsborough leading a chant about Junior Firpo (Football Away Days).
It was a good night on the pitch for the Whites as goals from Patrick Bamford and Willy Gnonto earned a 2-0 win (8 March).
And Robinson – speaking to MOT Leeds News – thinks it is always good when people see the human side to footballers.
“I mean everyone is different, for each individual it’s different. If it’s your club and a team you want to support and you passionately follow them then why shouldn’t you?” Robinson said.
“I personally haven’t seen the video so it’s difficult to comment on it but I don’t see anything wrong with it, we’re all human beings, just because you played football once it doesn’t make you any different to anybody else and that’s an important part of living every day life and that’s how I like to live my life as well.”
Ross McCormack spotted with Leeds United supporters at Sheffield Wednesday
McCormack is somewhat of a cult hero at Elland Road and the video that surfaced of him among the fanbase at Hillsborough was loved by supporters.
And Robinson is right, why shouldn’t he get involved? Just because he was a professional it doesn’t mean he isn’t allowed to to show his passion and support too.
You get the feeling a prime McCormack would have loved playing in this Leeds team under Daniel Farke too, what with the amount of chances the team creates.
McCormack playing in a side with the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Gnonto and Dan James would have been something to enjoy.
