Paul Robinson reacts to Daniel James debut for Leeds United last week
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.
Paul Robinson was impressed by Daniel James’ debut for Leeds United last week in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool at Elland Road.
Although it was a wretched performance by the Whites, the 23-year-old Wales winger managed to give fans something to look forward to with his 22-minute cameo when he came off the bench in the second half.
Robinson feels Bielsa has a bit of a headache going forward due to Jack Harrison and Raphinha holding down the starting spots out wide at Elland Road.

However, the ex-goalkeeper points to the fact that Bielsa rarely plays new players until they have fully bedded in with James hardly training with the Yorkshire club since his move from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “It was a difficult match for him to make his debut in. It was a difficult time for him to come on but there’s a lot of hope going forward with him.
“He can bring something different that they haven’t got with his energy and his fitness levels. He will bring a different dimension to the game.

“It looks like Bielsa isn’t going to change the system or the way that they play to accommodate anybody.
“It’ll be interesting to see where he fits in down the line. Will he come in for Jack Harrison or Raphinha? For me, he doesn’t come in for Raphinha so it’ll be interesting to see how he’s used.
“I was impressed with him in the time he did get [against Liverpool], the biggest thing for me was that Bielsa put him on because we’ve seen many times where Bielsa’s kept players at the training ground for two or three weeks until they get used to the training and the way he wants to play.
“He’d literally had him for two days because of the international break.
“We’ve never seen Bielsa do that.”
In other Leeds United news, this teenager broke an EFL record for Leeds this week after a video clip caught him doing something incredible.
