Paul Robinson predicts Leeds United clash v Manchester United
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson predicts Leeds United will be able to hold Manchester United to a draw in their meeting at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Leeds will go into the game hoping to avoid a mauling similar to the one they suffered last season at Old Trafford when Marcelo Bielsa’s were beaten 6-2 by the Red Devils.
The Whites did do well at Elland Road later in the season as they drew 0-0 but the Yorkshire club has won just one of the last 15 league meetings with their rivals and haven’t won at Old Trafford in the league since 1981.

Robinson predicts his former club won’t be able to break that run this weekend but he is optimistic that Bielsa’s men can get a point on the road at Manchester United.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “It’s a really tough start away at Old Trafford but it’s really hard to predict until the season starts to take shape.
“Until it settles down, the first few games are really difficult to predict but I can see them coming away with a score draw.
“Leeds got hammered there last season and played well against them at home.
“We always know Leeds are going to score, it’s just how they start the season defensively. I’m going to go for a 2-2 draw.”

Leeds started last season with a bang as they lost 4-3 in what was an impressive performance against then-reigning champions Liverpool.
For this weekend’s opening fixture, the Whites will be without Diego Llorente and Adam Forshaw.
Bielsa coped most of last season without both of those players and he will hopefully do the same at Man United on Saturday.
