Paul Robinson predicts Leeds United ace Raphinha to improve this season
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has backed Raphinha to improve as the season progresses after the Leeds United winger suffered a torrid time against Manchester United on Saturday.
Raphinha, 24, was booked and missed a massive chance to score at Old Trafford this weekend, although if he did beat David De Gea, it would have been no more than a consolation goal for the Whites as they lost 5-1.
TalkSPORT commentator Sam Matterface slammed Rahinha for an “aggressive lash out” at Luke Shaw when he was booked by the referee in the 62nd minute while YEP journalist Graham Smyth suggested the Brazilian is losing his head.

However, ex-Leeds goalkeeper Robinson backs Raphinha to dust himself off and continue his progression at Elland Road over the source of the season.
“Raphinha can go onto another level this season because of the way he started last season,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
“He got better and better as the season went on and now he knows the Premer League, he knows the way the players are going to play against him.
“I think he’s that good and there’s a lot more to come from him.”

Raphinha lit up the Premier League last season with a series of impressive performances in his debut year in English football.
Since joining from Rennes, Raphinha has been excellent and his value has no doubt shot through the roof.
However, he can have an off-day and all of Marcelo Bielsa’s players did on Saturday in the 5-1 loss to Manchester United.
It was an awful performance all around.
