Paul Robinson: Diego Llorente proving his class after Leeds draw v Liverpool

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist, each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson was left thrilled by Leeds United defender Diego Llorente after the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Monday evening.

The Spanish international scored his first goal for the club at Elland Road and has finally put his injury problems behind him.

Robinson labelled the defender as “top-class” and is proving that on a weekly basis without any injuries hampering that progress.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “He’s a top Spanish international.

“He’s had his injury problems, but he is now putting together a run of games, and it is no coincidence that he is the top class player that he was at the start of the season.

“We are now seeing the quality of player that he is.”

Class.

Llorente has proven in the past few months that he is the best defender at Elland Road, and we are loving his progress every single week.

The Whites have been thrown into the deep end against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the past couple of weeks and has thrived on that.

With Manchester United coming up too, it won’t get any easier for the Spanish international in the Premier League; but that is only going to make him better.

Liam Cooper is suspended, and with Pascal Struijk being handed that role alongside him, Llorente has stepped up and proven his worth and experience.

Things are only going to get better.
