Paul Robinson believes it’s going to be difficult for Patrick Bamford to get back into the Leeds United side this season after his tough injury spell.
Leeds provided an update on Bamford’s injury on Sunday [27 March], confirming on their official website that he’ll be on the sidelines for at least another six weeks after a foot injury was sustained in the win at Wolves.
On a positive note, the striker will not need surgery despite having continued to play on the injury for the last year which has progressed from a tear to a full rupture in that time.

Robinson shared his disappointment for the striker.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “It’s been an awful season for him.
“You can’t understand why he’s missed so much and for him to miss another six weeks, it’s as good as ruling him out for the rest of the season.”
Missing out
Bamford’s goal-scoring ability will be sorely missed after he racked up 17 goals in 38 appearances last season.
With Leeds just seven points clear of relegation zone Watford, who have a game in hand, it will be crucial they find a quick answer.
Robinson added: “They’re going to have another solution so whether they play [Joe] Gelhardt up there or rotate some of the others.
“But six weeks from now, you’re going to really struggle to get him back up to speed.”

On the bright side, Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente have all returned to training and will be available for the game at the weekend, with Raphinha also returning following an illness.
Leeds will be keen to try and take all three points, even without Bamford, when they take on Southampton on Saturday.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites can finally get rid of this “stinking” 29-year-old with a free transfer likely in the summer.
