Patrick Bamford's future remains up in the air at Leeds United after they sealed promotion back to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

Leeds will continue their title celebrations for a few days longer, but work will already be underway behind the scenes in preparation for the summer.

Several players could depart Elland Road, while the Whites will undoubtedly be looking to bring in some fresh quality to survive in the top flight.

One of those who could be on his way out is Bamford, despite still being under contract.

Leeds told to seek greener pastures with Bamford exit

Bamford has had a troubled season, and after failing to move him on in the winter transfer window, Paul Robinson thinks that Leeds may have to take the opportunity to do so in the summer, in a decision that he thinks would benefit both parties.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: "The money could be better used elsewhere for Leeds. He's spent a lot of time injured recently, and you aren't getting much out of him.

"You look at what he's played this year, look at his stats in the Championship, 17 matches, no goals, no assists. And is that going to improve in the Premier League?

Bamford has struggled to get going this season.

"In the Premier League, you're going to need a reliable squad. If you need a third striker or a second striker, you're going to need somebody who's fit, available and can be selected. And nine times out of 10 this season, he's not been any of them, unfortunately.

"I think it's time that they both shook hands and went their own ways. I think it's better for both, and I think for his own personal ambition and the way that he wants to finish his career and kick on now at 31 years old, the future's not at Leeds United."

Daniel Farke must be ruthless at Leeds this summer

Playing nice gets you nowhere in football, and with the Premier League already a daunting league to survive in, Leeds cannot make any mistakes.

Daniel Farke needs to be backed, but also needs to make a decision on those he wants to keep around at Elland Road and aid their push for survival.
