Pascal Struijk victim of his own success at Leeds United – Paul Robinson
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.
Paul Robinson claims Pascal Struijk is a victim of his own success at Leeds United due to being able to play in two positions.
Struijk, 22, has played as both a centre-back and a defensive midfielder for the Whites this season.
According to Robinson, Struijk excels more in a midfield role than he does at the back with the ex-Leeds goalkeeper admitting he’s dubious over the Dutchman’s ability to play in the defence.

“Struijk’s done extremely well but he’s a victim of his own success as he can play holding midfield as well as at centre-half,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
“I’m not convinced he’s an out-and-out centre-half.
“I think he’s a defensive midfielder who can play at centre-half when we need him to.”

Struijk is a player who Marcelo Bielsa is definitely a fan of with the former Ajax ace being able to play in different positions.
As he’s left-footed and good with the ball, he’s often seen playing on the left-hand side of a back-three or being utilised further forward when Kalvin Phillips is injured or unavailable.
Struijk has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Leeds this season and is arguably the biggest success story for Victor Orta when he welcomed a wave of new signings from abroad during the early days of his time at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, Robinson has hailed Stuart Dallas’ bravery for playing through the loss of a close friend.
