We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has said that Leeds should get a deal for Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul over the line “as quickly as possible”.
He said the two sides weren’t far away in terms of valuation and that De Paul would offer a lot to Leeds.
He said De Paul’s range of passing is “outstanding” and said he would be a “fantastic signing”.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “It’s one I’d like to see get pushed over the line as quickly as possible.
“They’re not far apart in terms of valuation and I think there’s a deal there to be done if they want him.
“I think they should push to get a deal done as soon as possible. He’s obviously been identified as the player they want in, and he could be an eventual replacement for Pablo Hernandez.
“From what I’ve seen of him he’s a really, really good player.
“He creates, he’s not afraid to put in the hard yards, he puts in a tackle, his range of passing is outstanding.
“I think he’d be a fantastic signing and I really think Leeds should try and get this over the line as quickly as possible.”
Robinson is echoing what the Leeds fans are saying about De Paul at the moment.
It does seem like the deal is there to be done after the Udinese sporting director commented on a potential Leeds move.
Pierpaolo Marino said that he was waiting for Leeds to match their valuation of £32.1m.
