'No doubt' – Exclusive: Robinson makes claim about Hernandez after Leeds star axed from squad
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has said that he has “no doubt” that Pablo Hernandez will be back in the Leeds United squad for the game against Arsenal at the weekend.
Hernandez was a surprise omission from the squad to play Crystal Palace, despite being fit.
It’s thought that he was dropped because of a petulant reaction to being subbed off against Leicester which saw him rip his black armband off and kick a water bottle.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson thinks that the matter was dealt with well and that it will be sorted now.
“I’ve no doubt he’ll be back in the squad to play Arsenal this weekend,” Robinson said. “I think the matter’s been dealt with and it’s not in anyone’s interest for this to be dragged on.
“The manager needs Pablo and Pablo needs the manager.
“It’s a situation that was dealt with, he left him out of the squad and I actually think it was dealt with in a good manner.
“If he’s back in the squad this weekend like I expect, then it’s brushed under the carpet and everyone can just get on with the football again.”
Leeds fans will be desperate for this episode to be over.
The unity in the Leeds squad is such that it’s a real shock when anything like this happens.
However, we can see Rodrigo starting the game on Sunday and Hernandez coming on from the bench if needed.
