Lucas Perri ‘set to clear medical’ as Leeds United eye transfer
Leeds United have identified Lyon goalkeeper Lucas Perri as a potential replacement for Illan Meslier this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the fitness record and game time of the Brazilian ahead of a potential move.
Last season, the Lyon stopper played in all but one of their Ligue 1 games.

Perri expected to clear medical if needed
The Brazilian is not expected to face any issues clearing his medical, according to Dr Brar.
Leeds United are keen on signing Perri and will have to pay a £19.8million fee to acquire his services. [L’Equipe, July 7]
Club | Appearances | Goals Conceded | Clean Sheets |

Olympique Lyon | 49 | 63 | 15 |

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Perri: “He played all but one league game last season and did not suffer any injuries.
“He should clear his medical without any problem.
“The adaptation for a keeper is slightly different from an outfielder, but he’ll quickly get used to the physical and intense nature of the Premier League.”

Leeds United must prioritise a move for Perri
Perri is an ideal replacement for Meslier at Leeds United due to his proven track record and attributes tailored to Premier League demands.
Standing at 6’5”, the Brazilian’s commanding presence and sharp reflexes address the Frenchman’s weaknesses, particularly in handling crosses and consistency, as Meslier’s errors cost Leeds points last season.
Perri’s 10 clean sheets in 33 Ligue 1 matches and 6.05 goals prevented last season highlight his shot-stopping prowess, offering a clear upgrade.
At 27, he blends experience with potential and Lyon’s financial difficulties make him attainable for a bargain for a goalkeeper who can solidify the Elland Road outfit’s defence and boost their Premier League survival chances, aligning perfectly with Daniel Farke’s ambitions.
