‘Leeds United would blow up wage bill to sign Raheem Sterling in January’ – Exclusive
Leeds United have recently been sensationally linked with a January move to rescue Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.
Leeds are said to want to offer Sterling a route out of Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea could even subsidise some of his wages to make it happen.
With PSR said to be an issue at Elland Road already, this one feels unlikely without severe help.
Leeds are currently struggling in the Premier League, and welcome Aston Villa and Chelsea to Elland Road in their next three fixtures, with Manchester City away in between.
While Sterling may not be involved, there are many stumbling blocks to the move.

Raheem Sterling would blow Leeds wage bill apart
Dan Plumley has insisted that it would be a massive risk for Leeds and the 49ers Enterprises to even attempt to sign Sterling.
The football finance expert admits that the Whites would need to blow up their wage bill at Elland Road for the England international, even if Chelsea helps them out.
“That’s a big stretch for Leeds, I’d say,” Plumley exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“It would blow their wage bill up even if his reported wage is correct, and Chelsea even covers half.

“It’s a big risk for Leeds financially.”
According to BBC Sport, Sterling is still earning £325,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge after signing a new long-term contract back in 2022.
£50million was spent to bring him to London from Manchester City, and after a failed loan spell at Arsenal last season, another move is wanted.
What is Raheem Sterling’s record vs Leeds United?
Despite playing against Leeds six times in his career, Sterling has not enjoyed the best of records.
His best singular record is against Bournemouth, scoring 12 goals and adding four assists in 18 appearances for Chelsea and Man City.
So, what would Daniel Farke need to be wary of?

In all honesty, not much, as Sterling has quickly lost his spark from only four years ago when he was one of Manchester City’s and England’s finest.
The winger has one goal and one assist against the Whites in his career, despite playing 499 minutes against them, the latter coming in Leeds’ FA Cup defeat at Stamford Bridge a couple of years ago.
Either way, it looks very unlikely, if not impossible, that this happens.
